    No matter your flavour, pack a punch to meat, fish or veg with these simple marinades, with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry. Add salt to taste and you have yourself a winner.

    SMOKY

    3 parts olive oil
    1 part Belazu chipotle paste 1 part lime juice

    CREAMY

    2 parts tahini
    1 part white miso paste
    1/2 part rice vinegar + water

    SOMETHING DIFFERENT

    1 part canola oil
    1/3rd part soy sauce
    1/3rd part honey
    1/3rd part cider vinegar
    1/3rd part ginger+garlic paste Pinch of powdered cloves
     

    ALL ROUNDER

    1 part coriander
    1/2 part parsley
    1/2 part olive oil 1/2 part lemon juice

    ASIAN STYLE

    1 part canola oil
    1/4 part spring onions 1/4 part soy sauce 1/3rd part garlic

    HERBY

    3 parts Greek style yoghurt 2 parts Zhoug paste
    1 part lemon juice

     

     

    PRO TIPS

    Marinate

    Always in covered, non-reactive and stain proof containers made of glass, stainless steel or ceramics. Refrigerate for best results.

    Pierce

    Use a fork or sharp knife to create holes in the protein for the marinade to seep through for maximum flavour.

    Don’t re-use

    Used marinade is contaminated with raw meat juice. Discard any leftovers.
