Camino Real Tequila is made from a special kind of blue agave - Weber, which is grown only in the vicinity of the states of Jalisco, Nayarit, Michoacan and Guanajuato in Mexico. To produce one liter of Camino Real, it requires from 3.5 to 7.5 kg of ripe fruit of agave, which is processed at its own distillery in the Mexican city of Tequila. Only tequila Camino Real has been awarded the title of 'Grand Tequila' by the Mexican Government, suggesting the highest quality drink. The name Tequila Camino Real was given by the Spaniards in the 16th century, referring to the path leading to the capital of New Spain, now known as Mexico. It is easily distinguishable from other tequilas by its original bottle shape, resembling a traditional Mexican hiking flask. Camino Real Tequila Blanco is one of the most popular and fastest-growing brands of tequila in the world, with a minimum aging period not exceeding 30 days, making it ideal for cocktails as well as traditional consumption with lemon and salt.
